Darren grew up in a small Mennonite community in Northern Alberta. He was first introduced to Ethnos Canada and the realities of the unreached in 2012 on a short-term mission trip to Mexico. It was there that the Lord really gripped his heart in regard to reaching the unreached.
While in Mexico, Darren learned about the Ethnos360 Bible Institute. He started taking classes in 2014 and graduated in the spring of 2016. After taking a year off to save the needed money, Darren enrolled in Ethnos Canada’s missionary training program, Emanate.
Throughout his training, Darren has been continually reminded of God’s heart to reach the world and his continual need to be completely reliant on the Lord in all things.
Moving forward, Darren’s desire is to serve the Lord in Mexico as a church planter.
In preparation for serving in Mexico, Darren is trusting the Lord to build a team of ministry partners that will stand with him through the coming years of ministry. He needs people who will pray for him, financially support him, and be faithful to encourage him.
Darren writes, “I have been constantly amazed how God provides teammates for this journey and thankful for the many people who have faithfully joined my team.”
A favourite portion of Scripture for Darren right now is Philippians 1:3-5: “I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, 4 always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, 5 because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.”
