What is Jungle Camp?
Every summer, our missionary candidates have two weeks to build a home in the bush. They then live in their home for four weeks as part of a practicum that teaches them many skills needed when planting a church in a remote and isolated people group. The practicum is called “Jungle Camp.” Below is a virtual open house for those not able to visit one of our in-person open houses.
Jadon & Bayley Abriel
Charlottetown, PEI
We are sent from the Charlottetown Bible Chapel in PEI. We met there in 2019 and were married two years later. After an opportunity to visit the Ethnos Campus in 2021, we had a clearer understanding of the big picture of missions and realized the great need for workers. We spent the next years praying and seeking out wisdom from our church, and felt the Lord was then directing us to pursue full-time missions. We later left our jobs to dedicate our time to Bible study and missions training. Lord wiling, we will use what we are learning to serve God and be a part of building His Church as He leads.

Scott & Jessica Brown
Charlottetown, PEI
We come from Prince Edward Island where we have lived with our four children. We were both saved at an early age, and are blessed to both come from Christian families.
Scott & I met through working at Emmanuel Bible Camp as youth, and it was in 2015 when we were married. We both have nursing degrees and spent 10-ish years working in the health field as Registered Nurses. While our formal education is in the health sciences, we both enjoy teaching & discipling and love to get opportunities to work in those ways.
When we were still dating we had said that we’d consider missions if the Lord ever led us in that direction. It was in 2020 when we started seriously praying about missions; in 2023 the Lord finally gave a very clear “yes”, and we decided to apply to Ethnos to join the training!

Samuel & Alyssa Cook
Gorrie, ON
Samuel is an electrician that enjoys serving at his church in Gorrie. Alyssa is an ‘missionary kid’ (MK) from Asia-Pacific that has a big heart for missions and serves at the same church. They began dating near the end of high school and became united in their desire to join the efforts of seeing the Gospel go to the unreached. After two years of long-distance dating while Samuel did electrical work and Alyssa attended Ethnos360 Bible Institute, they were married in August, 2020, with a small Covid wedding. Since then, they have been in B.C. for Bible school before coming to Ethnos for further training. They are here with their son Jasper Oaklen Cook, who was born during their time in the Ethnos Training program.

Nigel & Kelsey Fitch
Gorrie, ON
We met when Kelsey moved to Durham and her family started to attend the church Nigel’s family attended. We were friends for a while throughout youth group, and ultimately started dating when Kelsey turned 16. We dated for a couple of years and got married in 2021 right before we moved to Wisconsin to attend Ethnos360 Bible Institute (EBI). We loved our time at EBI and feel so thankful for the ways the Lord grew and challenged us there. During our second year we started becoming more interested in stateside missions, specifically what it would look like to serve at EBI. Ultimately, we were asked to stay at the school for a year and work in the Student Life Department to see if it would be something we would want to do long-term. Nigel worked as a Dean of Men and Kelsey served as the Dean of Students Assistant. We loved our year there and feel very passionate about the work the school is doing. We have been asked to return there after we finish training, and that is what we are hoping to pursue, but we will see what the Lord has for us!

Connor Goddard
Angus, ON
I was born in Paraguay, South America, and grew up there my whole life. During the time in Paraguay, my parents worked primarily with the indigenous peoples of Paraguay. I lived in a total of five different locations in Paraguay.
Although growing up in Paraguay helped expose me to missions and the needs of people to hear the Word of God and the gospel, I believe God especially used the two years at Ethnos360 Bible Institute to help confirm His leading into overseas missionary work.
Also, God gave me the opportunity to go on a short-term mission trip—an Encounter West Brazil trip in July 2022—and He greatly used this experience to open my eyes again to the need for more missionaries and to renew a passion in my heart to reach the unreached with the gospel. I look forward to seeing how the Lord uses my time at Ethnos Training to prepare me for what He has next for me. May He receive the glory!
