Ty and Mik Whatley desire to be beacons of HIS marvelous light in Asia Pacific!
Tyler grew up as a missionary kid in the jungle of Papua! Living among a remote tribe, he saw firsthand the need for the gospel to go forth as he understood his own need for grace. Knowing that the power of the gospel is what brought people who were in darkness to light, Tyler always knew he wanted to be a part of sharing the good news with those in remote areas.
Mikhaela, on the other side of the world, grew up as a pastor’s kid in a small town in Ontario! Hearing about missions from a young age she developed a burden for the lost. It pushed her to go on a short-term vision trip to Cameroon, Africa. The Lord used that trip to deepen her burden and yearning to serve overseas to proclaim the name of Jesus.
With both their minds and hearts in pursuit of declaring the glory of God overseas, Tyler and Mikhaela went to Bible school — Tyler attended Ethnos360 Bible Institute and Mikhaela went to Heritage Bible College. Still looking towards missions as the goal, Tyler began attending Ethnos’ missionary training program in Durham when he met Mikhaela who was in her last year at Heritage. They were married, and both went through Ethnos training program in hopes of heading to Asia Pacific.
