      Sydney grew up in rural Saskatchewan in a missions oriented church. She went through Millar College of the Bible and then through the missionary training program of Ethnos Canada (ethnostraining.ca), completing the training in 2022. She then went home to continue serving in her local church before heading to Mexico.

      Since fall of 2025, she has been serving in Mexico in a support role as a teacher at the MK school, Binimea.
