Physical Therapist / Physiotherapist

Location: Support Center

Salary: None – Financial support raising required

Purpose: The purpose of NTM PNG is to assist the local church in the effort of planting churches among least reached people groups. Physical therapists play an important role on the church planting team by providing for the health care needs of missionaries locally and in remote locations. They also impact the local community by caring for the medical needs of many local citizen workers. As a physical therapist you will assist the medical staff and clinic in providing care to missionaries and local citizens by using physical therapy, hands-on treatment and modalities when necessary, as well as education of therapeutic exercises and proper body mechanics/ergonomics pertinent to their diagnosis. You may be asked to treat a wide assortment of diagnoses, ranging from orthopaedic to neurological and possibly pediatric patients with various developmental delays.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and treat various diagnoses
  • Proper and accurate documentation
  • Develop plan of care
  • Timely reassessments
  • Properly educate patients, provide home exercise programs when needed
  • Deliver various modalities (Ultrasound, Electrical Stimulation, TENS, Therapeutic Massage, Hot/Cold Packs) when needed
  • Utilize manual mobilization techniques when needed
  • Effectively communicate with medical staff
  • Based on experience, training and staffing levels; medical clinic personnel may be asked to cover other responsibilities within the clinic.

Requirements

  • Other Requirements
    Degree: Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate in Physical Therapy (from an accredited university) Competent physical therapy skills required, good computer skills including email (required), Word (useful), and Excel (useful) Experience: minimum of two years of experience as a licensed / certified physical therapist. At least one year of experience working with musculoskeletal issues in an outpatient setting is preferred.

Secondary Math Teacher

Location: Numonohi Christian Academy, Highlands

Salary: None – Financial support raising required

Purpose: The purpose of NCA is to glorify God and to assist in the establishing and development of mature tribal churches throughout PNG by supporting parents in providing a Christ-centered education for their children.

Responsibilities: To teach math to secondary students.

Requirements

    Bachelor's Degree and Teacher Training. One year classroom experience preferred.

Public Relations

Salary: None – Financial support raising required

Purpose: To glorify God and assist in establishing churches in PNG that are equipped for maturity and multiplication by effectively communicating NTM PNG’s purpose, vision, and values to the public and by communicating how people can be engaged in that work

Responsibilities:

·         Evaluate the current trends within communications and social media that could benefit the furthering of NTM-PNG’s goals.

·         Develop and coordinate NTM-PNG’s communications schedule to meet its goals. Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of NTM-PNG current communications schedule, channels, and efforts. Make adjustments accordingly.

·         Proactive awareness of the goings-on within NTM-PNG in order to represent them.

·         Establish relationships with appropriate audiences in order to better achieve the goals of the Communications Team and to better connect with the needs of the audience.

·         Gather and develop stories/data/media

·         Act as spokesperson for NTM PNG as needed.

Requirements

    The qualified Associate Candidate will be required to have one year of experience in public relations or a similar field.
