      Jacoba “Coby” Pieternella Fondse
      1934 – 2022

      Fondse – Jacoba Pieternella “Coby” (Groeneweg) of St. Thomas passed away at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Saturday, January 8th, 2022 at the age of 87. Beloved wife of the late John Fondse. Dearly loved mother of John (Janet), Catherine “Cathy” Goud (Andrew), Sharon Scott (Gordon), and Brenda Whatley. Cherished grandmother of Michael, Nicholas, Kira, Heidi, Benjamin, Daniel, Joshua, David, Christina, Rebecca, Brent, and Stephen. Sadly missed by 6 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of the late Bastiaan, the late Max, Piet, Eva, Corrie, John, Nellie, and Dick. Coby was born in Dordrecht, Holland on February 24th, 1934, daughter of the late Bastiaan and Theuna (Van Pelt) Groeneweg. She was a member of Eastwood Baptist Church.

      Visitation at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St, St. Thomas on Friday, January 14th from 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at Eastwood Baptist Church, Wellington St, St. Thomas on Saturday, January 15th, at 2:00 pm. Interment to follow in Elmdale Memorial Park Cemetery.

      Pre-registration to attend the funeral service is not required. Attendance will be taken upon arrival.
