Prayer Team Update — September 15-19

Kuman People Are Hungry for God’s Word
Monday, September 15
Will and Kelly Tallman, now serving itinerantly, lived and ministered among the Kuman people of Papua New Guinea (PNG). This summer, they spent eight weeks in PNG with their Kuman brothers and sisters. Praise God that some ladies from the Kuman church have been selling Kuman Bibles “at roadside markets and in town. There’s a hunger for Bibles, and people can’t believe they can get one for such an affordable price! Over 350 of these Bibles were sold in just two months! Please pray that God’s Word will give hope and save the lost. Pray also that believers will grow strong as they depend on it for their daily walk.”

Pray for Missionaries Building Relationships
Tuesday, September 16
Christoph and Susanna Henrich serve in Asia Pacific. They recently moved to a new city. The Henrichs don’t know if this city will be a “stopover” place or where they will be serving long term. Pray for clarity and peace. Praise God that “M,” a new local friend, “immediately agreed to help us with our language studies, which is a huge encouragement and answer to prayer for us. … You are welcome to pray with us that we may build more good relationships with people in our neighbourhood, be a witness and continue to make progress in our language and cultural studies.”

Bible Teaching Has Begun in a New Guanano Village!
Wednesday, September 17
Lindy and Carol Drake, now retired, ministered among the Guanano people of Brazil. As an update to our prayer request for a new outreach in villages upriver, the Guanano Bible teachers and their families have stopped at village “PG,” and the teaching has begun. “Currently there are no believers in the village of ‘PG.’ There is another religious group there that may oppose their teaching.” Pray that the Bible teachers “may overcome that opposition as they respond to it with the kindness, grace and truth which come from Jesus and the Holy Spirit.” Pray that the Lord would “bring light and life to these who sit in darkness and slavery to the evil one [Satan].”

The Helicopter Is on Its Way
Thursday, September 18
Canadians Nathan and Emily Willems serve in aviation in Asia Pacific. Praise God that the R66 helicopter we have been praying about is finally making its way to Asia Pacific. “Please pray for a safe journey and for all the details with regards to clearing customs, converting pilot/mechanic licenses and [obtaining] operator certification which can only be completed with a helicopter in the country (or at least on its way). There are a lot of moving parts that we need the Lord to help orchestrate, and it’s easy to wonder what other sorts of obstacles lie before us. But God will go before us, and so we will keep our eyes on Him. We hope and pray that very soon our [aviation] team can be supporting those serving in remote

Joy in Serving the Lord
Friday, September 19
“J” and “T” minister among a people group (whom they refer to as “The People”) in South America. “We have gotten to enjoy two times together with believers and unbelievers alike in the new church structure. The guys are teaching the unbelievers through the evangelistic Cycle 1 teaching. What a joy to hear them teach. … It is so cool to watch these guys organize themselves with some reading the Scripture, others teaching, others giving a comment here or there — and doing it because they really want to. That’s what we’ve noticed — the joy in doing all this.” Praise God for how the church is joyfully serving Him. Pray that the unbelievers in attendance will understand the gospel and put their faith in Christ.
