Papua New Guinea: Mibu Missionaries Reaching Out to Other Language Groups
Monday, November 2
Geoff and Shannon Husa minister among the Mibu people of Papua New Guinea. The Mibu church has taken the gospel into surrounding areas, even to people who speak other languages! They have been teaching in Melanesian Pidgin, the national trade language, and found that literacy in the trade language is very poor in some of these areas. “[This] makes it difficult not only for people to read Scripture and teaching materials for themselves, but also for the church to train new teachers who can carry the work forward.” Pray for the preparations and funds for a possible training opportunity in the spring of 2027 for some of the Mibu teachers. This would equip them to teach literacy in the trade language so those being reached can read God’s Word and teach it to others.

Papua New Guinea: The Dinangat New Testament Is 92% Complete
Tuesday, November 3
Jeremiah and April Markley serve at Ethnos360 Training Center in Missouri and work remotely on Bible translation for the Dinangat people of Papua New Guinea. “Jeremiah continues to meet with Jaspa twice a week to work on translation and spends the rest of the week transcribing recordings, processing corrections and many other translation tasks on the multiple portions he’s working on. Our co-workers, Ralf and Elli [Schlegel], are also plugging away with the books they’re working on and are in Dinangat at the moment to do comprehension checking on several portions. We’re 92% complete with the New Testament!” Praise God that the Dinangat New Testament translation is nearly complete. “Please pray that the Lord would raise up more helpers within the Dinangat church to work with us!”

Papua New Guinea: Trusting God Through Building Challenges
Wednesday, November 4
Evan and Libby Hannay, along with their teammates Jacob and Charis Doerr and Jezekiel and Anna Van Der Decker, are currently preparing to build their homes among the Mian people of Papua New Guinea. The village is remote, and it has been difficult to get building supplies to the site of their future homes. Due to the current drought in the country (caused by El Niño), the rivers are very shallow. “Pray for wisdom for our team as we are constantly needing wisdom from the Lord on how to move forward. Pray for peace as we trust Him even when our circumstances are often frustrating.” Pray that God will work out the logistics and will provide the funds needed.

Papua New Guinea: God’s Word Is
Already Transforming Kuyu Hearts
Thursday, November 5
Michael and Morgan LeBlanc minister among the Kuyu people of Papua New Guinea. Pray for them and their teammates as they do a final review of the 61 chronological Bible lessons before teaching begins November 30. “One of the most encouraging parts of these past few weeks has been hearing how God’s Word is already impacting the Kuyu men helping us review the lessons.” One of these men, Augustine, shared some profound truths that he learned from studying God’s Word. “As we prepare to begin teaching the broader Kuyu community, we’re praying that these same truths will take root in hearts, exposing generations of deeply held lies and replacing them with the truth of God’s Word.”
“I used to see it like this — God made everything and He is the big one, but I didn’t know who He was going to save. So, I would look at all my bad things and just try my best so that God chooses me. But now all these lessons have taught me that there is nothing that I can do. Only Jesus can do it. “God’s Word is like a fire that is burning around the garden. And there are things that are trying to put out the fire, but God’s Word is still finding a way to burn. And now, today, the fire has found a giant heap of brush and is roaring like a wildfire.” — Augustine of the Kuyu people

West Africa: A Soccer Game
Broadcast, Noise and a Witch Doctor
Friday, November 6
Aaron and Amy minister among the “G” people of West Africa. “[We] are back into the swing of teaching. Amy [is] teaching literacy and Bible at the school, and Aaron [is] teaching a Bible lesson on the weekends, as well as doing two Bible readings/studies during the week. We are meeting in the local ‘city hall’ for the Bible teaching these days. … However, in front of that building, there [was] someone showing live soccer games on a TV. This caused serious noise and distraction this past weekend during our Bible teaching.” Pray that there will be limited distractions going forward. While it is good that the witch doctor is no longer distracting from the teaching among the “G” people, he is now manipulating people in a neighbouring country, and “a few young people from [the village where we live] have followed him over there. We are praying that they will be convicted of the evil they are supporting.”
