Your gift to sponsor missionary flights will make air service more available to more than 200 missionaries planting churches among more than 130 people groups. And because the use of aircraft will be more effective, efficient and affordable, missionary teams will be able to begin work among even more people who have been isolated from the gospel.

    Aviation Is a Necessity

    Weigh these options: a rigorous two-day hike or a short flight from the nearest airstrip. Those are the options available to missionaries who live and work in the rugged mountains and rainforests of Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, Asia-Pacific and Brazil. Ethnos360 Aviation’s pilots affirm, “Aviation is a necessity. There is no other way.” Missionary aviation also provides access to equipment, supplies and more. You can help make flights available for missionaries in remote locations. Every $600 sponsors an hour of flight time.

    Roles and Requirements for Service

    All candidates for service with Ethnos360 Aviation must complete missionary training with Ethnos360 or one of their Global Partners and undergo a technical skills evaluation with Ethnos360 Aviation. Missionary pilot candidates should have begun flight training before age 30.

    Missionary Pilots

    Missionary airplane and helicopter pilots fly either Kodiaks or Robinson R66 helicopters to support church planting teams. Meeting transportation needs includes flying medevacs; bringing supplies, equipment, medicine, food, mail, etc.; and encouraging church planters in their ministry.

    Missionary Airplane Pilot Requirements

    • Commercial pilot certificate
    • Instrument rating, airplane
    • Flight instructor rating highly recommended
    • 300 hours PIC

    Missionary Airplane Pilot/Mechanic

    • The above airplane pilot requirements
    • In addition, the pilot/mechanic will need a mechanic certificate (A&P, AME or ICAO equivalent) and one year of general aviation maintenance experience. Being both a pilot and mechanic is preferred for the greatest opportunities for service.

    Missionary Helicopter Pilot Requirements

    • Commercial helicopter pilot certificate
    • Flight Instructo rating highly recommended
    • 500 hours PIC helicopter flight experience

    Missionary Helicopter Pilot/Mechanic

    • The above helicopter pilot requirements
    • In addition, the pilot/mechanic will need a mechanic certificate (A&P, AME or ICAO equivalent) and one year of general aviation maintenance experience. Being both a pilot and mechanic is preferred for the greatest opportunities for service.

    Aircraft Maintenance Specialists or AME

    Aircraft Maintenance Specialists or AME maintain Kodiaks and Robinson R66s serving the church planting ministries of Ethnos360 and its affiliates. They ensure that the aircraft are in compliance with Ethnos360 Aviation and local country standards.

    Maintenance Specialist or AME Requirements

    • Aircraft mechanic certificate (A&P, AME or ICAO equivalent).
    • A minimum of two years of general aviation maintenance experience is required, with an IA preferred.

    Avionics Technicians

    Aviations Technicians maintain Kodiaks and Robinson R66s serving the church planting ministries of Ethnos360 and its affiliates. They ensure that the aircraft are in compliance with Ethnos360 Aviation and local country standards.

    Avionics Technicians Requirements

    • An Airframe Certificate, AME or ICA equivalent.
    • Two years electronics or avionics schooling or equivalent.
    • FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License (GROL).
    • National Center for Aerospace & Transportation Technologies (NCATT) — recommended.
    • International Society of Certified Electronics Technicians (ISCET) — recommended.
    • One year experience in avionics, including installations, troubleshooting and bench repairs.
