  Have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in health related field with a current NATA certification, Remain current in CPR and AED certification, Preferably have one or two years experience in athletic training setting, Be comfortable working with children and young people, Possess history-taking and assessment skills, Be able to work cooperatively with principals, teacher, nurses, training coach and counselors, Be able to communicate with parents and dorm parents concerning their student’s health issues, Have basic computer skills, Be able to assist with or transfer athletes of various weight/heights, Be able to push carts with athletic equipment on them, Be able to stand for long periods of time, have good mobility skills and be able to walk long distances, Demonstrate ability to communicate to give adequate directions and instructions to subordinates, Be able to carry training kit and coolers for long distance Preferably have one or two years experience in athletic training setting

• Be able to work with the ESS coordinator, classroom teacher, and ESD principal to understand, support, and evaluate student needs.
• Be able to work with testing results, classroom curriculum resources, and intervention materials as needed.
• Be able to work with classroom teachers to support students both in and out of the regular classroom.
• Be able to communicate well with teachers and parents the needs of identified students.
• Be flexible and able to adapt to new curriculum and new learning issues as they arise in the classroom setting.

Flexibility and willingness to change plans based on the needs of students. Strong collaboration skills and willingness to submit to the decisions of the student support team. Preferred experience with intervention materials, including but not limited to Fountas and Pinnell Leveled Literacy Intervention for reading.

Responsibilities: The ESD special education teacher will be responsible to help evaluate the needs of students in elementary for special services. This teacher will work with the ESS coordinator as well as the classroom teacher and the elementary administration. When involved in teaching, the teacher will need to communicate effectively with the classroom teacher as well as with the parents.

  Undergraduate degree in Special Education. Minimum of 2 years current experience in special education. Has at least an Undergraduate Degree in Special Education. Knowledge of and ability to administer assessments at the elementary level; including the areas of reading, writing, and math abilities. Knowledge of and ability to write and implement an educational plan including accommodations and/or modifications. Possess knowledge and experience with Learning Disabilities, Attention Deficit Disorder/Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Emotional Deficit, and Autistic Spectrum Disorders. Possess knowledge of a wide variety of materials and resources available to support students with special needs.
